Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus (credit: TwitPic) Twitter posts between Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato have caused speculations about whether or not their friendship is genuine or if their friendship is on the rocks. Yet upon closer examination, it's obvious that some of these twitter posts were meant to be tongue-in-cheek. The friendship between Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato is solid. Miley Cyrus had originally tweeted, “Now this is what true friendship looks like. None of that Hollywood crap. @ddlovato I miss you =]," posting a picture of the two friends. Demi Lovato responded by saying that "Yeah.. It’s just kind of hard to miss somebody that I don’t know anymore. Others such as Perez Hilton have speculated that Demi Lovato had been referring to Miley Cyrus as someone she didn't know anymore, leading viewers to speculate that their friendship was on the rocks. Yet Demi Lovato's comment had clearly not been aimed at Miley Cyrus. The two must have picked up on the rumors because they began to joke about it on Twitter with posts such as "@mileycyrus ahahahaha I swear, I'm so mad at you, as soon as your of age, I'm putting you in a home. :D" Miley Cyrus played into the rumors by twittering, "Goodnight everyone. P.S. No Demi and I aren't joking. We don't believe in jokes! This is happening. Our friendship is OVER! FOREVER!! bahaha'" One of the problems with Twitter is that sometimes sarcasm doesn't come through in print. Looking at the tweets at face value, one could see why rumor-mongers were able to find fodder for their speculations. Yet looking at the tone of these twitter posts, it's obvious that the friendship between Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato is real .
